A short drive from Illovo — precinct-facing apartments and established clusters, most of it with real glass to specify.
Melrose and Melrose Arch mix low-rise luxury apartment blocks close to the retail and office precinct with established cluster developments a street or two back. Newer blocks lean toward full-height glass and open-plan living onto a balcony; older stock has smaller, more traditional punched windows that suit a different product entirely.
Because so much of the newer stock sits within managed developments, body corporate and aesthetic-committee sign-off comes up often here — something we specify around as standard practice, not an afterthought.
Living close to a busy retail and office precinct brings a bit more dust and vehicle exhaust to the glass than a quieter suburb — easy-clean fabrics earn their keep here. Several blocks run access control and booking systems for contractors, so we plan the free measure around your building's process rather than turn up unannounced.

The Ledger works through the same sun that crosses Melrose — about 87° overhead at noon in December, about 41° in June — and what each elevation needs as a result. Melrose Arch's unshaded precinct glass and old Melrose's jacaranda-canopied avenues end up wanting quite different fabrics, and the guide sets out why, with the trade-offs written next to each recommendation.
