Concealed ceiling-recessed blind fully hidden above floor-to-ceiling glass in an architect-led Illovo apartment

Products · Concealed & recessed systems

Shading designed into the ceiling, not bolted on after.

Fabric drops from a slim ceiling slot or bulkhead recess — hardware fully hidden, so when the blind is raised the window is just glass and frame, nothing else.

For architect-designed homes and considered clusters.

Illovo carries a real run of frameless-glass, double-volume and minimalist-detailed homes where a visible headrail would undo the architecture. Concealed systems answer that directly: the fabric emerges from a recess planned into the ceiling, and when it's up, there's nothing to see at all.

The earlier we're brought into the drawing stage — new build or major renovation — the cleaner the result, because the recess, the downlights, the aircon slots and any curtain pelmets all get coordinated together rather than retrofitted around each other.

Retrofit is possible too

Where the ceiling wasn't planned for it, a surface-mounted bulkhead or a slim cassette pelmet, colour-matched to the ceiling, gets close to the same clean effect without construction work.

  • Recess depth — roughly 110–150mm depending on the system and fabric drop; we confirm the exact spec at quote stage rather than guess on site.
  • Almost always motorised — hand-reaching into a ceiling slot defeats the point of a hidden system.
  • Coordination matters — downlights, aircon slots and curtain pelmets are planned around the recess, not the other way round.
  • Premium spend, premium result — the system, the motorisation and the builder coordination all add up, and it photographs beautifully.
